Start the month of February in the best way and watch the cultural events that will take place near you!

This week we present you with a variety of suggestions, ranging from the world of music, photography and theatre.

Music:

On Saturday, Homem em Catarse, alter-ego of Afonso Dorido, takes the stage of gnration to publicly present his album “Sete Fontes”, released in 2021. Due to the pandemic, this concert has been highly anticipated and, therefore, will be a special moment both for the composer and the musicians who will accompany him, as well as for the public.

The 12th Porta-Jazz Festival returns to the stage of the fantastic Teatro Municipal Rivoli on the 4th, 5th and 6th. There are 17 concerts in three days involving more than eighty musicians, national and international, some for their debut, others with an already consolidated career.

Exhibition

Next Saturday, at the Municipal Auditorium of Vila do Conde, the photography exhibition “Personarium” by the artist Miguel Bernard, which will be available to visit until February 26th.

Theater:

On the night of the 5th, at the Municipal Theater of Vila do Conde, you can watch the monologue “Nobody” performed by renowned actor António Capelo. This show comes as a celebration of theater and all professionals who work in this art, who are not always valued, but have a fundamental role in society like all professions and deserve to be recognized.

The show “Todos Somos Camões” will be presented on the 5th at Cine-Teatro Garrett. The play intends to deconstruct the fantastic figure that was Luís de Camões and, through imagination, tries to tell what his day-to-day was like, the adventures he experienced that later led him to write ‘Os Lusíadas’.

Online:

Can true happiness and success be measured by material possessions? What is the personal and global impact of our consumer culture? Is there an alternative?

Minimalism: A Documentary About the Important Things tries to demonstrate the importance of simple things through interviews with people who reject the idea that happiness is in material things.

That's all for this week, we'll be back next week with more cultural suggestions. Until thursday!
