From Smartphone to Film Awards!
Currently, you don't lack anything to make great footage. Proof of this is Charlotte Prodger who, in 2018, won an award with a film captured using an iPhone.
Almost certainly you also have a smartphone and that you are even reading this text through one. On the back of your device you'll find a lens that lets you do amazing things. Here are some tips to get the best out of your smartphone:
- For now, movie screens aren't vertical yet, so record your videos horizontally. The only time you should do this is when you produce video for Stories;
- Do not use digital zoom. The image is reduced in quality due to the increase in pixel size. In order not to lose definition, you must bring the lens closer to the object you want to capture. It only uses the zoom if the device is equipped with a decent optical zoom;
- Do not use your smartphone's flash. This is a very bright light that distorts the color temperature of the environment;
- Vary the way you develop your footage! It makes recordings with the technique of Hyperlapse, which is already incorporated in most devices and produces in Stop Motion.
